Sport - I have been a member of St. Anne's Tennis Club for many years. I represented my club in various tournaments and competitions. I was on the Munster Tennis team. This provides me with an invaluable experience of teamwork and resilience through sport. I enjoy training in the gym and running regularly. This enhances my discipline, concentration, and determination which I can apply in my everyday life. It also motivates me to strive to make progress in personal goals and achievements.
Culture- I have a strong passion for history and the study of people in our society. I completed an internship in the National Museum of Ireland. It afforded me the opportunity of working with the public, for example providing historical tours for students and assisting with exhibitions.
In sixth year, I received the “Angela Allison Memorial Award for History”. I represented Munster in the “My Adopted Soldier” Project 2017. As a result of this, I represented Ireland by travelling to Belgium to participate in a World War I commemoration. This involved a visit to the European Parliament, visits to WWI sites and meetings with European leaders. On my return, I gave a presentation in Waterford's Medieval Museum, detailing my work for this project.
