During the recession in 2008 I needed to find work as I had recently become a dad.
At the time there wasn't much work so I decided to try commission sales.
I worked 12 hour days for over 3 years and took part in the business development side to the role.
I trained over 10 people and built a team who would set and reach targets for multiple companies including Sky tv Airtricity and multiple charities.
I done door to door sales which was extremely challenging and required a strong mental ability.
I also done event selling in shopping centers and street selling all over Ireland.
I traveled to England a lot for networking and learned lots to help maintain my income.
after 3 years I decided to make a change as the markets were becoming less and the income I was generating just wasn't sufficient enough for the hours I was putting in.
In 2003 at the age of 19 I was employed by ideal tubes a school furniture manufacturer based in Dublin 12.
My role was to cut steal and wood to size for school tables and chairs.
I also done deliveries to schools all across Ireland.
The company reduced numbers as business was bad and I left.
The company moved location and closed its doors shortly afterwards.
At 17 I got a job in the Irish times newspaper based in city center Dublin.
My roles involved delivery of comp newspapers to estate agents and businesses around the area.
I would also pack and deliver bundles of papers for stall sellers and collect from the independent newspaper a short distance away.
I worked with Human Resources with the delivery of paperwork to the vhi building.
I worked here happily for near 2 years until redundancy when the company moved in 2022.
